| Volume Analysis: | |
| The volume of 'muck to be shifted' on a site can be determined from a comparison of two Digital Terrain Models (DTM's) representing a before and after situation with additional DTM's for intermediate stages such as underside of topsoil or rockhead. The DTM's are generated either directly from survey data or from the input of design information. The volumes can be further analysed and allocated to specific areas of interest such as roads or landscaped areas and the effect of design changes can be determined. A typical example of this is to determine the consequences of changing the depth of capping layer under a road. For further information on volume calculation visit www.volucalc.co.uk |
