Setting Out:

A large part of our work involves setting out on site.
This can be anything from setting out trialpits or boreholes, to major housing developments.
Our preferred method of work is to use the design drawings and extract the relevant information for loading directly into the instruments thus avoiding the possibility of errors in data input. The use of robotic instruments means that the setting out engineer is in control of the accuracy of the process and the possibility of errors reduced.
All points set out can be logged and a report generated giving the design position and the position as set out.
We use GPS for setting out on sites where 'line of sight' is difficult to maintain either because of the size of the site or because of site traffic. This is particularly relevant to the early stages of a project before site clearance.
In many cases we can offer to carry out the work on a fixed price, particularly for setting out piling and for housing sites. An alternative is to work on a price per visit but we are not an agency and do not provide an engineer to be on site full time.
